Recommendations for your trip
Recommendations for the trip: Information about Argentina and for argentine travellers around the world!
In this section we will include useful information from volunteer travellers who have had an experience with Subir al Sur and sent interesting data to share with new volunteers around the world! We will also include interesting links for volunteers travelling to Argentina, so they can consult at any time (most of them already are on our Info sheets but it seemed practical having it here too).
Argentine Travelers to the World!
Before your trip:
Process or actualize your passport
Check visa requirements for the countries you’ll be visiting at the corresponding embassies.
Buy your plane tickets in advance.
Do some minimal research on the country or countries you are visiting, contact the tourist offices of embassies, specialized books or guides (Lonely Planet, Time Out, etc.), contact local associations representing each country, do some research in libraries, internet, or chatting with friends…
Check if you need to get any particular vaccine.
Make sure you have Health Insurance, youmay also think about taking out insurance for your personal items – camera etc…
Do some research on local means of transport: economic plane tickets, rail lines, etc.
During your trip:
Open yourself joyfully to a whole new experience! Try not to judge positively-negatively those who you are living with-sharing, without previous dialogue.
Keep constantly in touch with your family and friends. Let them know of any change of plans or itinerary.
Be respectful of local legislation in all aspects.
Be careful and take care of those who travel with you. Trust with responsibility.
If you are part of a project and, for any reason, decide to drop out: a) inform Subir al Sur and the local partner organization of your reasons
After your trip:
Get in touch with participacion@subiralsur.org.ar to tell us about your experience and also fill in our evaluation on-line!
Tell your friends about your volunteering trip and help us promote our web site so more people join this activity! www.subiralsur.org.ar
Let us know if you would like to attend an informative-reflective meeting together with potential new volunteers.
